Could I get some help on my app? I am a beginner computer science student and I need some help please

There is my link to my Github account, it would be nice if I could get some help from someone out there. When you test the app and open it, you will see a To-Do List button, and when you click it, the app crashes. I have linked a picture below showing the onClickListener to go to the toDoList.java class. All the code is fine, the to do list code works when it is a separate app, and the only part that has an issue is going from the "Menu" screen to the "To Do List". I do not know what I am doing wrong and it would be nice if someone could help me. This is a small summer project I decided to do and no one I know knows how to help. I understand that what I am asking is might be a lot but I would really appreciate the help. Thank you all so much. Here is the picture for my setupListView method that contains the onClickListener

So for a summary, the button press from the menu to the to do list page crashes the app after clicking, I do not know how to fix it.

Here is my toDoList.java class

Situation

We're having a difficult to diagnose issue with our app. When we attempt to use an intent to have the camera app return a picture, we receive a low-level crash situation that we are unsure how to debug. This is occurring on Nexus 5x devices on bother Android 6.0 and Android 7.0.

We can reliably trigger this when we use an intent to call up the camera app to retrieve a picture with the following code:

Intent intent = new Intent(MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE);if (intent.resolveActivity(fragmentContext.getPackageManager()) == null) {   return;}try {   File photoFile = FileUtils.createImageFile(fragmentContext);   data.addFileUpload(photoFile.getAbsolutePath());   Uri photoUri = FileProvider.getUriForFile(fragmentContext, OurApplication.FILE_PROVIDER, photoFile);   intent.putExtra(MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT, photoUri);   startActivityForResult(intent, REQUEST_TAKE_PHOTO);} catch (IOException ignored) {}

As shown, there isn't anything usual here.

Environment

We are able to trigger this on our test devices which are Nexus 5x. One device is Android 6 and the other is Android 7. They both produce similar stack traces (the one shown is from Android 7.0).

Triggering Context

It seems that we are able to trigger this event given either of the following two situations:

  1. The Google Maps is loaded in the activity that starts the camera
  2. A low memory situation (which we triggered with Chrome loaded with a tab or two of cnn.com)

What we've tried

We've tried to piece-wise remove functionality from the app until we could not longer trigger this crash but we've always been able to trigger it given a low memory situation.

Questions

  • Has anyone run in to this before and found a way to solve it?
  • Suggestions on how to further debug this issue?
  • Any links for hints?

Updates

2016/11/02 - There is an open bug report as noted in the comments. Different device/builds (Nexus 5x, 6P and Pixel with Android 6, 7.0 and 7.1) are reporting the same problem with various different types of situations as well. I'll continue to post updates with more information. The situation has been classified as a defect with priority of small. I would consider staring that bug and raising your concerns there.

2016/12/14 - I'm personally still having this issue even with the various security updates that have been applied. There isn't any more information other than other people reporting the same issues across various devices. Please check out the linked bug report, star and comment there. If I find anything that works, I'll post here!

2017/07/31 - For people that are still experiencing this issue, one user has attempted doing staged roll outs to their user base and removing various features to attempt to diagnose what the issue is. In their situation, by removing com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:11.0.1, their situation has appeared to have been resolved. Unfortunately, maps are a core component of our applications; thus, this is not acceptable in our situation. In my opinion, this still appears to have to do with consumption of ram in various situations that causes the issue when resuming the activity.

2017/12/05 - No changes or real acknowledgement from Google. From what I've found, this issue appears to have been resolved in Android 8.0 and on some devices running various updates to Android 7.x

SWIFT: Exception when sorting a single value "array"

$

Update, because the question was closed. I am aware of nil values. So let me phrase my questions a bit more concrete:

(1) Is the line number shown in the crash log the same number as I see in Xcode including comments and blank lines?

(2) Why would Xcode run my script and load a JSON file upon opening a project?

(3) Is there a standard code to cope with sorting a single value array? I guess I could do

guard sortedJsonResult = jsonResult!.highscoreRecord.sorted { $0.Date < $1.Date } else {sortedJsonResult = jsonResult!.highscoreRecord}

right?

When loading my project I get

IB Designables: Failed to render and update auto layout status for HighscoreViewController (6Ed-3Z-stE): The agent crashed

The crash report in the log folder shows

Fatal error: Unexpectedly found nil while unwrapping an Optional value: file /Users/me/Documents/xCode/1x1/ScoreTimeGraphView.swift, line 31

Line 31 (if comments and blank lines are counted) would be

let sortedJsonResult = jsonResult!.highscoreRecord.sorted  { $0.Date < $1.Date }

jsonResult currently has only a single record, so I assume the error is caused by $1.Date. However, I have never seen any exception handling for sorting single value arrays. And this is also strange because I would not assume Xcode to load the JSON file when only opening the project

PowerShell calling advapi32.dll GetEffectiveRightsFromAclA crashes PowerShell

My goal is: Get the effective rights for a file or directory without needing external modules like PowerShellAccessControl or NTFSSecurity from powershell gallery (I used both work on other systems without problems). Simply because the the owner of the system(s) it has to run on doesn't want "External untrusted" stuff.Tn my case when testing on my systems the file exists. I run as local administrator on Server 2019, the guest account I am using to test against is activated and has full access to the file (verified via explorer, extended rights, effective access). Using right-click start as Administrator on Powershell makes no difference.

# define method$MethodDefinition = @'[DllImport("advapi32.dll", SetLastError = true)]    public static extern uint GetEffectiveRightsFromAclA(        string pacl,        string pTrustee,        out uint pAccessRight);'@$Advapi32 = Add-Type -MemberDefinition $MethodDefinition -Name 'Advapi32' -Namespace 'Win32' -PassThru# execute function$pacl = [System.String]"c:\testfile.txt"$pTrustee = [System.String]"guest"$PACCESS_MASK = [System.uint32]0$AccessMask = [Win32.Advapi32]::GetEffectiveRightsFromAclA([ref]$pacl, [ref]$pTrustee,[ref]$PACCESS_MASK)

I expect the accessmask to be returned, a uint32 value.

But as soon as [Win32.Advapi32]::GetEffectiveRightsFromAclA([ref]$pacl, [ref]$pTrustee,[ref]$PACCESS_MASK) , with or without a $AccessMask =, is called PowerShell crashes.Sorry, I can only supply a screenshot of the PowerShell crash and not the text.

From here on I am running against a wall, what do I have to change?Powershell crashing from calling advapi32.dll

Apple rejected App due to crash, can't reproduce it

Hello guys and thank you in advance for any tip/help .

I really need some help with a crash log from apple that has been bugging me for the last week, i sent 4 builds (Built using xCode 11.1) and every time i get the same answer :

Guideline 2.1 - Performance - App Completeness

Your app crashed on iPad running iOS 13.5 on WiFi when we logged in with Facebook account.

Step to reproduce the crash:

  1. Launch app
  2. Select “Login with Facebook
  3. Accept EULA
  4. Tap “Continue” in Facebook login screen
  5. App crashes

At first i was able to reproduce the crash and this was the xCode crash on my real device using same OS version as Apple :

https://imgur.com/a/aKgf2uO

Then someone suggested AlamoFire Pod Issue with swift compiler optimization and that i should set Swift Compiler Optimization to no Optimization ( was Optimizing for Speed beforehand ). When i did that it actually fixed the issue and i tested it on multiple real devices. Every time i was setting it to Optimize for speed it would crash the same way as Apple reported and every time i would set it to none it would run smoothly, so i sent the build for review with No Optimization on release config and to my surprise they gave me the same answer with the same crash log.

Here is the crash Log From Apple

Excel Vba - Event Macro Crashes on 2nd Run when used in "Worksheet Events". works perfectly in break mode

I'm going through a peculiar failure in my excel vba macro wherein the excel sheet crashes on the 2nd run of the macro (Yes, 1st run in perfect).

This macro is to delete all data labels except the recent one for a particular series in all graphs in a sheet. Common graph is used with slicer and Data table to select which line item is needed in graph. on every change in slicer (new line items is selected in data table filter), i want the macro to run and do the label work.

Below is source code for the Graph data label work,

Sub Update_labels_Only_To_Last_Data() Dim myChartObject As ChartObject Dim mySrs As Series Dim myPts As Points Dim iPts As Long Dim bLabeled As BooleanApplication.EnableEvents = FalseName = ThisWorkbook.NameSet Wb = Workbooks(Name)Set WsGraph = Wb.Worksheets("Graph")WsGraph.Activate With ActiveSheet For Each myChartObject In .ChartObjects For Each mySrs In myChartObject.Chart.SeriesCollection If mySrs.Name = "TAR" Then bLabeled = False With mySrs For iPts = .Points.Count To 1 Step -1 If bLabeled Then' handle error if point isn't plotted On Error Resume Next' remove existing label if it's not the last point mySrs.Points(iPts).HasDataLabel = False On Error GoTo 0 Else' handle error if point isn't plotted On Error Resume Next' add label mySrs.Points(iPts).ApplyDataLabels _ ShowSeriesName:=False, _ ShowCategoryName:=False, ShowValue:=True, _ AutoText:=True, LegendKey:=False bLabeled = (Err.Number = 0) On Error GoTo 0 End If Next End With Set myPts = mySrs.Points myPts(myPts.Count).ApplyDataLabels Type:=xlShowValue 'Add only to last data End If Next Next End With'End IfApplication.EnableEvents = TrueEnd Sub

I've tried running macro using a separate button it works perfectly. Then linked this with event macro (Calculation) using below code in sheet (Donotdelete)

Option Explicit

Private Sub Worksheet_Calculate()Dim Act_Sheet As WorksheetApplication.ScreenUpdating = FalseApplication.EnableEvents = False    Application.Calculate     If Not Application.CalculationState = xlDone Then 'wait till previous calculation gets over       DoEvents     End IfSet Act_Sheet = ActiveSheetApplication.Wait (Now + TimeValue("0:00:01"))Call Update_labels_Only_To_Last_DataAct_Sheet.ActivateApplication.ScreenUpdating = TrueApplication.EnableEvents = TrueEnd Sub

so once a slicer filter is changed, calculate event is triggered using "Count" function in "Donotdelete" sheet and macro gets run. when first time slicer us changed, macro works perfectly. but when 2nd time the slicer is changed to call different graph, macro gets initiated and all of a sudden, completely sheet gets crashed/closed. Tried in break mode and the code works perfectly. tried giving doevents / wait options and still the result is same. To confirm the crash source, tried skipping the "macro" using comment block in eventmacro sheet & the code works perfectly. on any selection change in slicer, macro goes thro the event macro and works perfectly. with this, source is confirmed to be the macro "Update_labels_Only_To_Last_Data()".

i use the same macro in main module and there it works perfectly any number of consecutive times. could not find why it crashes only when used through even trigger and only on the 2nd time !!!. did all my google help thing for couple of weeks now but no result. see if you guys can show me a wayout.

C# WPF Why Does my program crash on other computers?

So I made a program that reads and writes to excel files.

About one year ago I made a similar program that still works fine. I made a new one as I have gained more experience, and wanted an updated version.

The new program launches just fine on every computer, but once I try to click my button to check an excel file and open a new window, the program crashes.

  private void Button_Click(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e)    {        string serial = txt_ser.Text;        if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(serial))        {            Filesearch(serial); // Searches the directories and sets Common.Filename as the found filepath            if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(Common.Filename) || !string.IsNullOrWhiteSpace(Common.Filename))            {                Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application follo;                Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Workbook xlWB;                Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet xlWS;                object misvalue = System.Reflection.Missing.Value;                follo = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Application();                follo.Visible = false;                try                {                    xlWB = follo.Workbooks.Open(Common.Filename);                    Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Sheets excelSheets = xlWB.Worksheets;                    string currentSheet = "Main";                    xlWS =  (Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet)excelSheets.get_Item(currentSheet);//Read a bunch of excel cells and place their values in an ObservableCollection called partslist here.                    xlWB.Close();                    follo.Quit();                    Window1 window1 = new Window1(serial, Common.Filename, variant, partslist );                    window1.Show();                    this.Close();                }                catch (Exception ex)                {                    follo.Quit();                    MessageBox.Show(ex.Message);                }            }            else            {                MessageBox.Show("Could not find " + serial +". Is :N available on this computer?");            }        }        else        {            MessageBox.Show("Please enter a serial number");        }    }

The weird thing is that this is pretty much the same code I used in the previous version of my program, the only difference is that I pass some values when instantiating the new window in my new program.

I tried to debug the issue by showing a messagebox between each line of code to see how far it gets before crashing, and what I found is that it crashes when it reaches this line: window1.Show();

I believe that could be the case, but it could also be something with the excel handling.

.NET is up to date on both developer pc and client pc.

Anyone have any idea what's happening here? Any help would be very much appreciated.

Mac Boot Issues after Jupyter Tensorflow install

I recently installed a number of packages in order to follow some scikit/tensorflow/Jupyter tutorials. On rebooting my mac I get the dreaded black screen and exit symbol. Safe mode booting doesn't work at first but then after numerous attempts, recovery mode boots and then after i'm able to safe mode boot and finally regular boot.

This has happened three times. I've backed up and am considering doing a full recover, but i'd much prefer to solve it another way.

My install of the all tools listed above and the required libraries/packages wasn't perfectly clean, i had some issues with pip and conda due to my low experience with Terminal, but I had thought I had uninstalled and reinstalled the necessary packages. I also had some issues with kernal dying but after following another thread resolved that.

Tensorflow Jupyter notebooks now work fine.

Any advice on how to resolve this issue?Thanks

Crashlytics not appear crash in dashboard

I added Firebase Crashlytics in my project and I force created a crash with the below code. The crash was created and logged in logcat but didn't appear in Crashlytics dashboard!

I enabled debug logging to my project and I saw the below message when forcing a crash, but I don't know what this is / what the problem is?

I can see my errors in Fabric console but they don't show in Firebase. In Firebase, Analytics reports like users in last 30 minutes work with my application. I've been trying for around 3 days but still can't see the error in my dashboard!

My code:

  Button crashBtn=findViewById(R.id.crashBtn);    crashBtn.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {        @Override        public void onClick(View v) {            Crashlytics.getInstance().crash();        }    });

XCode 7 crashes when clicking on storyboard and solution by Apple engineers in dev forum does not work

I got XCode 7 beta 2 installed and I do the following steps:

  • create a new XCode project (single view application)
  • add a Watch target to the project
  • select any .storyboard file

There is a similar discussion on the apple developer forum but the solution suggested by the Apple engineers does not work.

Anyone had better luck?

This is the Mac OS version and hardware specification I got:

Is there a way to track when a xamarin.forms app shuts down

$

Hi I am trying to implement a rollback functionality for my xamarin.forms app. Basically I want to execute some code that would run when my xamarin.forms app is interrupted due to a crash or abrupt shut down of phone, etc.

I found couple of links and one of them here mentioned about Activity.onDestroy() but activity refers to a single activity as oppose to the whole app so it is triggered only when that activity is destroyed and not equivalent to the whole app shutting down. I was wondering if there is some sort of xamarin.forms extension to determine an app's abrupt shut down.

SciPy PPF crashing with Underflow warning

I have a DataFrame of 6K columns (each with a corresponding SciPy distribution and set of arguments) and 100K rows of probabilities. My goal is to calculate the PPF of each of those probabilities by iterating over each column / distribution combination:

The Max and Min indicate that my probabilities are within the [0, 1] range (no problem there). The arguments conform to the SciPy formatting and ranges. Why am I getting this error -- especially when I have ignored NumPy and general warnings? Also, despite using list comprehensions, each column takes an inordinately long time to compute. Is this simply due to the volume of data? Can I speed it up somehow? I'm reluctant to use Pool(), for fear that fitted columns will be returned out of order.

Thank you for your kind assistance!

EDIT: I looked into this a bit further. The program crashes when the first argument in the fitted Wald distribution (right before the crash) is 3.651299582419059e-05. No crash occurs when I subtract 1 from the last digit. Any idea what could be happening?

This code is not working. Error is expected

    class helloworld    {        public static void main(String args[])        {            System.out.println("Hello World");        }    }

This is my first java program. I'm running it through command prompt. On running this code gives the error which I can see here is unexpected identifier.
